PROFTEAM was appointed for Construction Project Management Services on 11 July 2007 to assist the Departmental Project Managers in managing the land ports of entry. The Project Management appointment was made with contracts with delays in all stages and with unreliable WCS-data.
The company provides construction programme management services and develop a realistic implementation programme for the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure. This involves supporting development of programme procurement strategies, plans and reviews regarding consulting engineers. PROFTEAM periodically review the quality of work and management of the contracts and summit comprehensive reports to the Departmental Project Managers. The project consists of repair, maintenance, and servicing of fifty-one borderline bases. The projects are complex in terms of the remoteness of the ports of entry and that a high-quality product must be delivered to user departments.
PROFTEAM has develop check and balances and controlling mechanisms in terms of the implementation of policies and procedures applicable to all projects undertaken in the repair and maintenance programme to facilitate in the successful execution of Departmental contracts.
The company revised the Civil Engineering Manual (PW347/2012) for streamlined by reconciling it with CIDB and best practices. This involves inception, concept and viability, design development, procurement, construction, and closure.
PROFTEAM developed a project management information and reporting system, enables all role-players to communicate effectively and share the wealth of knowledge in order to keep all role-players informed.
The Service Provider has in-depth understanding of the objectives of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure related to the site briefing as well as a sound knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities.
Included in the supporting documents is a summary of completed and current projects, confirming PROFTEAM’s competency and experience in functioning as a multi-disciplinary practice.
